SK Telecom Plans 2008 Debut of MVNO Service in China

Korea's JoongAng Ilbo reported on September 12 that SK Telecom plans to become the first Korean mobile operator in China by launching MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) services in 2008. Projected to commence in selected regions after the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, SK Telecom's MVNO services will enable the company to sell video clips, ringtones, and other multimedia content via mobile phone services. At present, SK Telecom is eyeing China Mobile and China Unicom as potential business partners in the Chinese market, according to the same report.
